new blog site: Toastess

I set up my new blog today ----> head on over to Toastess and start following the fun with me! I'll still update this blog for a little while; then the switch will be official and mommaruthsays will be no more.

Come on over and start this new blog adventure with me; I couldn't (and probably wouldn't) do it without you, my friends!

best day of the week

I get to stay home with my sweet little gal on Wednesdays - and by far, it's the best day of my week.

looking for my groove

I feel like I'm in a blogging funk right now - things aren't coming to me and I find myself avoiding or neglecting the blog for days at a time. I still read other blogs and keep up with my "duties" as a reader. I'm just really slacking as a blogger right now.

I know everyone gets in these funks, it's part of the routine of blogging. But I'm seriously thinking about closing up shop here at "mommaruthsays" and starting fresh. Starting over completely. I have ideas and new directions I'd like to try - and there's parts of me that look back on the last two years and cringe (as a blogger). So maybe a new fresh start would be good. Coming over from my MySpace blog to here was amazing; I can only imagine what starting over again would feel like. The challenge of designing my space and carving out a little hole for myself - the exciting prospect of "meeting" new bloggers and changing up my readers (would you come with me, please?).

So we'll see. I don't want to rush it - I want to give it some thought and make sure this is what I really want. So like I said, we'll see.

the Nugget

We saw the Nugget this past Tuesday - she's a beautiful, healthy, very active little girl. All of her parts are in the right spot and she looked perfect, everything was right on schedule.

Little "RJ" is doing good, bumping and grooving her way into the 6th month, and honestly I couldn't feel better. None of my symptoms are overwhelming. Everything feels pretty peaceful and calm. My hormones are staying in balance (for the most part) and my aching body isn't too unbearable at this point.

I'm still not looking forward to that home-stretch of swollen ankles and non-stop peeing. But I'm definitely looking forward to meeting the Nugget face-to-face come June. She's definitely wanted, already loved, eagerly awaited and I just can't wait to have her in my arms.

oops

It feels like I've broken some sacred blogging rule, but I missed my own "blog birthday" or "blogiversary" or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days.

Missed it and missed it good - January 23rd kind of good. I guess now you'll believe me when I say I'm busy.

I don't think I would've had anything spectacular to say on said blogging anniversary - probably just a "thanks for reading" for the small, loyal gang I have out there. It's been an interesting two years, that's for sure. I can't wait to see what's up ahead and all those other wonderfully cliche things people say on days like that.

I have enjoyed blogging. I do appreciate my loyal readers. And I really am excited to see what my future holds. By the time my third blog anniversary rolls around all of the following things should be true:

-I will have graduated (finally!) and have my Bachelor's in Human Services & Counseling.
-I will have a four-year-old and a seven-month-old.
-I will have been married to Justin for two years.
-I will have been with Justin for eight years.
-I will be twenty-three (I think, I always forget how old I really am).
-I will still be blissfully happy and hopelessly busy.

Here's to another good year living my life out loud online!
