Did you watch the season three premiere of The Walking Dead last night?! (You should have, because I only reminded you about it for the past four weeks, at least...)

First off, I have to say I am so happy that Norman Reedus has such an increased presence this season (so much so that he got his own screenshot in the new opening sequence!), and I cannot get enough of Daryl Dixon face-time on my TV. Second? I've been preaching at Justin for months that Daryl + Carol would happen, and it seems like things might maybe totally happen. Please excuse the crazy romantic pre-tween within me; you have no idea how it makes my heart sing. The first fifteen minutes of the episode were all I needed to see last night:

I have a feeling this little thang won't last, especially given previews from the upcoming season and definitely if they follow along with the comic book series story line (sorry y'all who don't know, Carol dies in the prison or so I hear) - but I have high hopes for at least a little action between these two before all hell breaks loose...yet again.

Maggie and Glenn were wonderful last night, I know a lot of people don't like wimpy Glen - but he's got a soft spot in my heart. Plus, I'm a sucker for all things romance within TWD realm, so I love seeing the two of them together.

Two people I hate seeing together? Rick and Laurie, sweet baby cheese-puffs - these two need to get over themselves. I kind of agree with my husband; he says if Rick/Laurie/Carl weren't on the show, it'd be 10x better. Let's hope Carl will stay put this season so we don't have an entire season of "Is Carl in the house?" CARL'S NEVER IN THE DAMN HOUSE. And cue Laurie freak out.

I am so excited to see this Michonne character develop, she is officially the baddest lady on the block; I dig her zombie slaves so much.

Also, poor Herschel - old guys just don't fare well on this series, as I imagine it might be so in real life. Still, I really like him. I don't why Laurie even bothered asking him to put her and her lovechild down if things got bad. Herschel couldn't hurt a fly, much less a woman and child in the birthing process. Speaking of, I'm really not looking forward to that scene - no matter how it ends up playing out. Oy.

I'm not going to recap this season (not that this post is even a recap, more an incoherent rambling about my love of certain characters and the others are lost in my mind every time I think of sleeveless Norman Reedus and dear god, I'm drooling again) so don't worry.

Just know, whenever this show's on on Sunday nights, I'm watching. And I swear, if they kill of my precious little Daryl I'm going to boycott. Just saying.

13 inches isn't that big...

...when you're referring to a TV.

Last night, Justin and I were able to get our dream TV! 50 amazing inches of glorified goodness. He's already got big plans to rush home and watch the Tennessee game tonight on our mega-screen. Our living room is so tiny, I'm a little nervous the TV is going to overwhelm the space. Then again, it may be like watching regular ole TV at the movies.

Either way, I'm tickled pink to finally stop using a 13-inch RCA circa 1993 as our main source of television. My eyes are damaged, maybe forever - and yes, I realize how incredibly spoiled I sound.

Starving Ethiopians would still appreciate my new TV, believe me.

this family likes family guy

We are a couple that likes Family Guy, Justin and I.

We quote it to each other all the time. Someone can say something out in public, and Justin and I both just look at each other and reference it back to Family Guy. Now, I know it's a crude show full of bad humor and some pretty gross stuff sometimes. But still, it's our guilty pleasure - we do enjoy us some Griffin household comedy.

And here's one of my absolute favorite moments from FG:

Don't judge, I know you all have your guilty pleasures whether you admit it or not.

Glee finale

I loved the Glee finale - seriously, it was beautiful. If I wasn't having such a stressful evening, I probably would've cried at the entire thing.

*Only one thorn in my sandal: I hate that Quinn & Puck gave up little baby Beth to Mrs. Cocharan. WTF? She doesn't even want anything to do with Rachel, her own blood daughter! I digress*

The music was astounding - I'm a huge Journey fan and I loved the medley. I'm also a huge Queen fan, but was annoyed that Jessee St. James was the only one from Vocal Adrenaline singing - isn't it a competition about good singing not good dancing? Whatever, I knew they wouldn't win...this year.

I loved seeing all the abundant love happening. Rachel and Finn, back together at last.

*Question that has plauged me since I started watching Glee mid-season: How is Finn a virgin? Didn't he and Quinn do the nasty? How else would he have thought the baby was his? When Santana was trying to "cash in his V card" earlier in the season, it threw me for a loop? What gives, Gleeks?*

And of course, "To Sir With Love" was my favorite song of the show, if not the entire season. Beautiful and sweet and lovely. The Finn/Mercedes singing combo was phenomenal. I hope to see/hear more of that next season!!!

I plan to catch up on all the old episodes I missed and be fully in the loop by the time next season starts airing in September! How about you - did you love the Glee finale?

RIP Blanche

I love the Golden Girls - I have so many memories wrapped up in watching that show. I first got hooked on it when I used to sit with my great grand-mother after school. We'd eat peanut butter crackers, drink Diet Mtn. Dew and watch two back-to-back hours of the Golden Girls.

And although Dorothy was always my favorite, Blanche was my #2 gal. Rest in peace, Rue McClanahan.

Wherein I struggle with the Duggars

I've been bouncing back and forth on how I feel about the Duggars. Yes, I realize it's not really important to have an opinion on this family one way or the other - but like so many other "celebrity families" out there, they're going to be in the media for a long time coming, so I might as well decide how I feel about them sooner or later.

I can remember seeing the first Duggar show back on Discovery years ago when the focus of that particular show was the building of their (previous) massive house - not the one they have now. It wasn't even really centered on their large family but more on how they planned this house for such a big family and how they were incorporating industrial things into a residential home. It was very interesting (I remember being amazed by their pantry, in particular) - at the time, their family size didn't really impress me that much. And for awhile, we didn't hear about the Duggars. Then all of a sudden, they had their own show about popping out kids and THEY WERE EVERYWHERE.

And the opinions started forming like wildfire. People came out of the woodworks to either defend or condemn the Duggars and their decision to have baby after baby after baby after baby (about 15 more times). Honestly, I really don't mind the Duggars about 50% of the time. They have several bonus points going for them in my favor - sort of a pro v. con list if you will.

Pro:
-They are self-supporting (unlike Octo-Mom)
-They are mild mannered and endearing at times
-Their kids are all healthy and seemingly as normal as can be
-They don't push their beliefs on the American public through their show
-They seem to really love each other and all their children

Con:
-They are obviously a little crazy...obviously
-They (Jim Bob & Michelle) call each other "Mommy" and "Daddy" all the time
-They pimp their family out for money. Call it what you want, that's what they do
-They keep talking about having more kids, despite what's going on with baby #19

So you see? They're not exactly bad - but they're not exactly that good either. I'm on the team that's rooting for them to go away, not neccessarily because I don't like them. It's just that I think they've completely sucked the life out of their allotted 15 minutes and are now just getting annoying.

I also have issues with they way they just leave the door open for more children. I'm a pro-choice kind of girl on just about every subject from homosexuality to abortion to religion to politics. I may not agree with you at all, but I believe in your right to be able to choose for yourself what you believe in. That's something I don't agree with other people opposed to the Duggars; I'll never pipe up and say that they don't have the right to have more children. It is their right completely - I just wish they would consider letting baby Josie, sweet little Duggar #19, be the last one for them. Michelle is 43 - her body has done an amazing job carrying and delivering all these kids. This last go-around wasn't anybody's fault, I understand that. It's just that maybe it's time to throw in the towel and have ole "Daddy" Duggar snip-snipped. Maybe it's time...

I watched the episode of "19 Kids & Counting" where little Josie Brooklyn made her debut into the world at 1 lb. 6 oz. It was heartbreaking - as much as I may not like or agree or tolerate the Duggars, to see dear old Jim Bob getting teary-eyed tugged at my heartstrings. And then to see the older siblings crying when they first met their little sister, it was saddening to say the least. This is a family who have enjoyed so much time in the UP UP UP part of their lives, I think they're a little shook up to be dealing with such a low blow. They were steam-rolling with interviews and their TV show and a new grand-baby and the world at their feet. Little Josie brought them back down to reality, and I would never wish a premature birth or baby on anyone, but I think if anything, this has helped them to realize that life is precious and money is not the answer to all things and there should be a time for the cameras to stop rolling.

I am rooting for this baby and this family - she has done remarkably well to be so little and so frail. I can only hope for good things for baby Duggar #19 and for all the Duggar family. I am hoping that they will shut down production on this crazy show and just start living a semi-normal life. It's time for that too, Duggars. You've had your moments in the spotlight - far too many moments, if you ask me - it's time to focus on family and togetherness and reality.

Duggars, I like you. Sort of. A little. Don't push it, okay?
