Today was the SidMo's second birthday -- it was such an event in our little hometown that they threw my darling daughter her very own birthday parade! Well, not really. But there was a parade. And it was her birthday. So, I'll just let her think that it was all for her!

We had a little party for the little birthday girl. She got a few little gifts and a few little hotdogs. We had lovely cupcakes and balloons and friends and family. She got happpy presents like a Dora pillowcase dress, a vanity dresser and stool, a Princess patio set and a keyboard -- just to name a few.

The only downside to the day was the fact that poor little Sidney looked pretty rough! She fell down our front-porch stairs yesterday, which are covered in this skid-resistant material that feels a lot like sandpaper. Her nose, cheek, chest and arm are all scraped pretty bad - it reminds me a lot of road rash. But other than the fact that she's going to look a little rough around the edges in her party pictures, the day was a total success!

I'll have to steal pictures from Fanny (I forgot my camera)! But I'll get them to you ASAP.

I'm working on it, folks. Expect all kinds of mommaruth goodies to be coming your way soon! For now (since I'm poor and can't afford my own domain) I'll just set up a little links section over there on the left side for you to keep track of everything.

Maybe someday I'll be rolling in the dough and everything will be put on one nice little mommaruth dot com site...let's continue to dream, shall we?

happy 2nd birthday Sidney Morgan

In just two days time -- count them ONETWO -- two days time my little monster will be turning two years old!!! TWO? Yes, two! As in one year plus another year equals two years. YEARS? Yes, 365 days plus 365 days equals 730 days that my little munchkin has been here on earth. That's 730 days of meals, dirty diapers, baths, hugs, kisses, crying screaming fits, rolling, crawling, walking, slobbering, gibbering, talking, learning, dreaming, sharing, enjoying and being in love with someone.

That someone is my daughter. Let me say that again: MY DAUGHTER. The love of my life. The reason for all my reasons. She's my inspiration, my dreams, my hopes for the world all bundled up in those smushy cheeks and pink little lips.

It almost seems unreal that we're already here at this moment; another year has passed us by so quickly. It truly seems like yesterday we were having her first birthday party - another milestone I couldn't believe arrived so fast. How do these minutes, these days, these hours, months and years pass by so unrealistically fast? How can it be that my child is already another year older? What will this feel like on her third birthday? And her fifth? And her sixteenth? How will I cope with these moments that are so fleeting when all I want to do is stop time and let these days last just a little longer? It's like a record that keeps playing: "where did my baby go? Where did she go? Where? Where? Where?"

How has she managed to go from a tiny ball of skin and babyfat and sweet breathed kisses to this giant toddler with smarts to match any genius and a heart big enough to love everyone instantly? What did I do so right to deserve this amazing child in my life? I have a million questions - who do I ask?

I am so grateful to be her mother. I know I am lucky beyond words to have this darling little girl living in my home, my heart and my life. She's the best thing that has ever happend to me. Period. End of story. I've said it a million times - she's simply the best. She's all I could ever ask for in a child. She's my best friend - the one who knows instantly how to cheer me up and make my day a little brighter. I am the lucky one. Lucky, lucky, lucky.

HOW? How did I get so lucky?

sweet sweet september!

It's September!!! My absolute favorite month of the entire year!!!!

There's so much going on this month:
-Sidney's 2nd birthday on the 5th
-our wedding on the 19th
-and my 21st birthday on the 28th

Plus there's a million other family + friend's birthdays happening this month. And let's not forget the weather. Hello cool, crisp air and beautiful night-time breezes! Hello shorter days and snugglier nights. Hello colorful woods and crunchy leaves. Hello hello hello and welcome AUTUMN!!!

Just last night as I was walking back to the house I let myself breathe deep and fully just to enjoy that delictable fall-time air. I love love love this time of year. And the fact that all the crazy, joyous happenings are happening this month only add to my excitement and wonder.
